EXCELLENCE V has the volume and interior comfort of a 75 meter yacht in 60 meters of intimate perfection and still fits into smaller preferred marinas such as St. Barth’s. Her sweeping exterior lines complement the vastness of the striking interior by the renowned design team of Reymond Langton Design. Huge windows allow for ample natural light and fantastic views. The circular glass elevator is accessible to guests from all decks.
The expansive master suite encompasses the entire forward area of the upper deck with a large skylight overhead and 180 degree panoramic views from oversized windows. There is private access to the owner’s walk around terrace with Jacuzzi. An additional King stateroom is also located aft of the master suite.
Five en suite guest staterooms are located on the main deck forward of the foyer.
Amenities include a Gym, Cinema, and Beach Club on the lower deck; the Gym and Beach club each feature an island style terrace. The galley is below and all toys & tenders stowed in the garage – making her interior and exterior decks free for total guest enjoyment.
Dine alfresco on the bridge deck aft, or watch your favorite sport at the sports bar. A second large Jacuzzi is located on the sundeck for guest use and aft sun beds on both the sundeck and bridge deck levels. All decks have generous seating and ample awnings for shade.

Ray was born in Newport, Rhode Island where he began a yachting career on launches. He steadily continued his climb up the yachting ladder by serving as deck crew and mate on various yachts, eventually earning his 1600 Ton Oceans Master license. He has been with the EXCELLENCE program since 1989, playing a major role in the building of EXCELLENCE II, III, IV and V! Yachting has taken him to many parts of the world, with extensive time spent in the Mediterranean, New England, and the Caribbean. The immense knowledge and experience gained through these travels enables Ray to offer an array of possible itineraries as well as a pleasurable cruise. Ray is also a family man, with wife Maria, and their four wonderful children based in Ft Lauderdale, FL.First Officer: Matt Artrip
Having grown up in Southern Illinois, Matt always had a desire to be closer to the water. After attending Winthrop University in South Carolina, on a soccer and academic scholarship, Matt graduated in 2004 with his Bachelors in Business Administration, with a focus in Finance. Upon completing University, he jilted Graduate School and joined M/Y Excellence III (188ft/57m) as a deckhand and has never looked back. Matt now holds a United States Coast Guard 1600gt/3000grt Master's upon Oceans and a 3rd Mate Unlimited upon Oceans license. He has cruised the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Alaska, British Columbia, US East and West Coast, Central America, Galapagos and French Polynesia upon various yachts. His goal is to provide guests with a pleasurable and unforgettable experience while onboard Excellence V.Bosun: Chris Irby
Born in Richmond, VA, Chris spent his childhood on the water, most notably vacationing at his family's summer house on the Chesapeake Bay. It was during these summer months that Chris developed his passion for the sea, partaking in numerous activities such as water sports, sailing and boating. Chris ultimately knew that his career path would eventually lead him to the yachting industry. After completing High School, Chris continued his education at Radford University where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. Upon graduation, the yachting industry was still fresh in his mind and with his bags packed, Chris headed to Ft. Lauderdale where he landed a deckhand position on M/Y Dream. Chris joined Excellence V in 2014 and strives to provide guests with a satisfying and memorable experience while onboard.Deckhand: James Rakoczy
Coming from Media, Pennsylvania, James had to venture out of his comfort zone and head east to pursue his passion for water sports and fishing. This passion led him to find the yachting industry. He is well-traveled, covering Europe, Central America, some bits of Africa and Alaska. James brings the skills and attributes he has obtained through his background in hospitality and time onboard yachts to make your trip a memorable one.Deckhand: Michael O'Leary
Atlanta born, Michael spent his youth playing in the backcountry fishing and camping with his family. Early on he took a liking to fly fishing and has fly-fished all over the US. When Michael was going to University obtaining his undergraduate degree in Psychology, he realized that continuing with his Law degree was not his heart's passion. He had heard about the yachting industry from a friend and hasn't looked back since. His humor and wit bring a smile to any occasion.Deckhand: Andrew Yoder
Andrew joins the Excellence V crew having already cruised much of the East Coast, Bahamas, and Caribbean during his years of yachting. Born in Colorado Springs, he graduated from CU Boulder and worked for a financial software company in Silicon Valley before trading the cubicle for the ocean. Andrew’s glowing smile and willingness to assist guests makes him a great addition to the Excellence V team.Chief Engineer: Daniel Springer
Daniel was born in San Sebastian, Spain. After 12 years, he moved to Germany with his family. He started his engineering career by completing a 3.5-year electrical apprenticeship. He continued working as a land based certified electrical engineer, performing programming and installation of industrial plants and automation of luxury properties. It was a job on a yacht in Mallorca that made Dan realize is passion for the sea. He has spent the last 12 years on several yachts and has acquired his Y1 Chief Engineer’s Certificate of Competency. He enjoys all water sports, snowboarding, biking, gym, swimming, technical design, electrics, computers, music, 3D printing, iOS programming.Second Enginees: Wynan Botha
Born and raised along the laid back coastal town of Port Elizabeth, South Africa Wynand has always enjoyed the outdoors and adventure sport lifestyle. In 2006 he graduated from the University of Port Elizabeth with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and further certificates in Project Management and specific short course studies in Germany. He has since worked onboard S/Y Mirabella III, M/Y Leila Lina, M/Y Casta Diva, M/Y Kogo and is now a solid crew member onboard Excellence V. In his off-time or whenever he gets the chance, he enjoys mountain biking or catching a few waves at his favorite holiday spot back home in St. Francis Bay.Head Chef: Stuart James
Stuart was born in Hannover, Germany, straight into a life of travel as a military child. He finally settled in London and started a two and a half year cooking college education. After his initial training, he continued his career for the next twelve years in London. Stuart worked for some of London’s most recognizable names: Anton Mossiman, Anthony Worrel Thompson and Marcus Wareing. Having reached a fork in the road Stuart decided to leave London and enhance his career by entering the yacht industry in 2001. Stuart has worked on only a few yachts in that time, preferring to get the most he can out of each experience. He joined Excellence in April 2016 and is excited to offer you a variety of meals inspired by all parts of the world, right to your dining experience.Sous Chef: Nico Garbo
Nico comes from Padua, a city in the north east of Italy. His love for food and the ocean brought him to the join the Excellence V team. He began his culinary path at the age of 14, attending hotelier school. His passion has brought him to work in a plethora of restaurants, including the historical “Hotel Cipriani”, the 3* Michelin “Le Calandre,” the 2* Michelin “Connaught Hotel” and 2* restaurant “Remy” on board Disney cruise line. Nico has extensively traveled the world working on the seas and is fluent in Italian, English and French and Portuguese. His love for different cultures and food allow for Nico to bring his culinary skills and world travels to your dining plate.Chief Stewardess: Gwen Hamp
Gwen grew up in a tranquil small town in Northern Michigan, living on the Great Lake’s all her life. After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelors in Marketing, she moved to San Francisco for a career in Transportation Insurance. Although after a few years she realized she missed traveling and seeing the world terribly. She left her job and went on to backpack around New Zealand, Australia, Asia, Europe, South America and parts of Central America. Through her travels and love of the water, Gwen found yachting. It was the perfect fit for her as she was able to pair her passion for traveling with her 13 years of hospitality experience. This background ensures that Gwen will anticipate your needs with a warm and professional demeanor to make your experience aboard M/Y Excellence V a memorable one.Second Stewardess: Sarah Mitchell
Sarah was born and raised in the small southern English town of Haslemere, Surrey. After finishing school, she started her career in the hospitality industry, working in restaurants, hotels and luxury B&B’s. After 10 years in hospitality, Sarah decided it was time to head to warmer climates and so started her yachting career in Palma, Majorca. Since 2009 Sarah has worked on numerous yachts ranging from 70ft up to 236ft, cruising the Mediterranean, US East Coast, Bahamas, Caribbean & Mexico. In her last 15yrs of hospitality, she has learned a thing or two about how to make guests happy. Sarah has been with Excellence V for several years and with her friendly, easygoing manner, she will make you feel relaxed and ensure that you have a great holiday onboard.Stewardess: Charlotte Starnes
Charlotte hails from Tallahassee, Florida. She attended Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, FL and earned a degree in International Relations and Global Affairs. She has always had a strong love of the ocean ever since she can remember. She has over ten years’ experience in the service industry working in night clubs and bars to high end hotels and restaurants. She began her career in yachting in 2012 and has worked on boats ranging from 72 -92 meters. She has had the pleasure of cruising the US West Coast, including Alaska, Mexico, the Caribbean, Bahamas, the US East Coast, Scandinavia, United Kingdom, as well as the Mediterranean. She loves her job and to be of service and help in any way she can.Stewardess: Madison Roberts
Madison is from the small town of Kelowna in the interior of British Columbia. Growing up in the mountains and close to a large lake, she spent her winters riding the slopes and the summers wake boarding. She was far from the sea but with extended family in the yachting industry she was enticed to join herself. After completing a joint degree in neuroscience and political science from McGill University she has committed herself to yachting before she plans to attend law school. Her bubbly personality and willingness to be of help makes Madison a great addition to the Excellence V team.Stewardess: Hallie Schlaeger
Hallie was born & raised along the coast of Connecticut and attended Eastern Connecticut State University, where she studied Sociology. She has been a stewardess for over 5 years and has sailed all over the United States, Caribbean, and Mediterranean Sea. She enjoys yoga, snorkeling, and trying new foods & wines wherever she travels. Hallie's favorite part of yachting is making friends from all over the world and she is looking forward to advancing her yachting career on Excellence V!
