INSPIRATION: WHERE TO GO ON YOUR SUPER YACHT IN MALLORCA
Palma de Mallorca
Embark your super yacht in Palma de Mallorca, the trendy and historic capital of the largest island in the Balearics. The city is wealthy and cosmopolitan and the ancient harbor is an enticing spectacle to start your charter in style. Culture vultures will be spoilt for choice with Museum of Spanish Contemporary Art, the Seu Cathedral and the Castle de Bellver to visit, as well as plenty of unusual Islamic architecture from the Banys Arabs to the Town Hall. The celebrated Catalan artist Joan Miro also has a museum by the marina. The quaint, narrow and quiet walkways of the city add to the old-world charm.
Cabrera Archipelago Maritime Park
A must-see destination for nature lovers is just a short sail from Palma. Cabrera Archipelago Maritime Park is made up of 19 spectacular islands with towering cliffs and an impressive collection of wildlife and is only accessible by yacht. Anchor off in a secluded bay and explore the underwater world in your own private corner of paradise.
Cruise over to Andratx, in Mallorca, and experience the local cuisine and hospitality. Port d’Andratx is a stunning natural harbor encircled by dramatic white cliffs and retains its charm from its origins as a traditional fishing village. Enjoy a glass of local white wine, not forgetting to sample the catch of the day, and watch the sunset in one of the quaintest ports in the Mediterranean. Head inland and explore Andratx town, a picturesque maze of narrow cobbled streets, colorful and filled with flowers, which overlooks the port from its elevated position on the hillside.
Our favorite marina in Mallorca has to be Port Adriano in the province of Calvia, southwest of the Bay of Palma. Designed by Philippe Starck, the marina showcases great design with an array of premium services in a highly functional environment. Make sure you include a stay in one of the most modern marinas in the Mediterranean in your charter itinerary.A fantastic selection of restaurants and luxury brands await you, alongside world-class yacht services. Port Adriano is an exceptional base for superyachts.
Port de Sóller
Port de Sóller is a beautiful horseshoe harbor surrounded by the Tramuntana Mountains. The dramatic scenery has helped protect the resort from being overdeveloped and to this day only mule tracks and fishing boats link some remote coves along this stretch of coastline. The bay is lined by a golden sandy beach with a pedestrianized promenade behind, where you will find cafes, restaurants and shops to enjoy the local delicacies and watch the world go by.
From there, anchor off Sa Foradada and then head over to Deià, the hippy chic playground on the hilltop, home to the renowned estate La Residencia. Cruise along Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain range that protects the western coast of the island back to Palma, for one last night to remember to finish your super yacht charter.
